Taughannock Falls State Park
Very accessible, peaceful walk to the base of the falls. The tallest free-falling waterfall in the northeastern United States, Taughannock plunges 215 feet, making it taller than Niagara Falls. The waterfall is breathtaking when you first see it. It is amazingly beautiful. This park is very well maintained.
Hike Rating: Peace of cake hike to the waterfall from the parking lot (approximately 3/4 mile). Easy to moderate trails the north and south trails combined offer approximately 5 miles of hiking (750-acre state park). Gorge trail is relatively flat.
