Stillwell Woods Park
With less than an hour from NYC this is a good park for bikers there are a few black diamond alternate routes on the back side that are fun.If you are hiking watch for the mountain bikers. There are walking trails too but I think it's only fair to say that if you have young kids I'd stick to the foot only trails and be mindful of the bikes. The park offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Horses are also able to use of some trails.
Hike Rating: Peace of cake. Approximately 4.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail (270 acres offering hiking, biking & horse trails). The Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail for hikers runs through the preserve; there are also bicycle trails and equestrian trails.
Cost: It was free entrance and free parking.
Location: 72 S Woods Rd, Woodbury, NY 11797
kids: Great for kids, lots of space to run around.
Dogs: There was many dog in the property . They have to be familiar with riding around bikes and trails.
