Norvin Green State Forest
Challenging and pretty. Great for long and short walks. Beautiful rock formations, waterfalls, natural pool and wonderful views, all not far from New York City. In 1935, the pool was carved out of a hillside. The pool is a stream-fed non-chemically-treated swimming with stone retaining walls and a safe children’s area. Annual memberships and daily visitors passes are available to the general public.

Hike Rating: Moderate to Advance. Approximately 25 miles of trails (5,400-acre park).
Cost: It is free to park and walk around.
