Mt. Frissell (Mt. Washington State Forest)
There are several ways to access Mt. Frissell but Berkshire Hiking was the easiest to find. It's just the easiest way to get you to a trail head. This trail travels to the highest point in Connecticut (Bear Mountain) via an ascent of Mount Frissell. Beautiful views along the way! Great hike.
Hike Rating: Moderate to Advance (small scramble). Approximately 5.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Taconic, Connecticut.
Cost: It is free to park and walk around (There are two small parking areas).
Location: Route 41 in Sheffield, MA (Mt. Washington Road trail head on the Connecticut/Massachusetts border).
kids: Good for kids. Watch for snakes.
Dogs: Allowed on leashes.
