Kaaterskill Falls
Very beautiful place! Extremely beautiful waterfall. It's located about 2 hour away from NYC. Be sure to pay attention to the signs as they give a fair warning of what to expect. There is a lookout ledge that is only a few minutes from the parking lot (stroller and wheelchair accessible/Laurel House lot) but its worth the small hike to see the real view.
Hike Rating: Easy but caution is needed with the wet areas. Aproximenttly 1.5 miles of trail (Rail Trail), there are 200-step staircase and rocky half mile. There are many trails in this area (one of which is 22 miles long).

kids: Great for kids but it is slippery in many parts. The trail to the lower falls is longer and has some wet steep stairs. Would not recommend the trail to the lower falls for kids under 4.
Dogs: Allowed on leashes.
