Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve
Our favorite state park in all of Long Island. Elegant, expansive, well maintained, safe. Beautiful grounds any time of the year. Plenty of views and trails so you can do something different on each visit. The view of the sound is amazing and the beach is the perfect resting spot in the middle of the day. Suitable for walking, running, bicycling.There are historic buildings in the park but they can only be viewed from outside.
Hike Rating: Moderate .The park has 1.520 acres, approximately 5.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail.
Cost: $8 a car weekends and holidays April 7-May 20.
