Bear Mountain State Park
Bear mountain definitely makes for a great little getaway from the city. Beautiful hiking trails, lots of scenery to take in, and plenty of running streams to follow up the mountain. There are many lookouts along the way, as well as large rocks you can sit on to take a rest and the summit makes a great spot for picnic with the family!
Hike Rating: Moderate to Advance (scramble). Approximately 52,000 acres state park located on the west bank of the Hudson River. Offers hundreds of miles of trails including the Appalachian Trail.
Cost: $7 per car. Admission to the pool is $2 for adults, $1 for children 6-12.
